VULTURE INDUSTRIES – “The Tower”

VultInd3Schizophrenic Norwegian Metal is how this album is described on the labels little sticker found on the cellophane of the digipak. Yes folks, a cherished copy, such is the pleasure Vulture Industries bestow upon my soul.

I have voiced many  superlatives about these chaps for a few years now, the first album “The Dystopia Journals” caught my imagination and the follow up “The Malefactors Bloody Register” continued the allure which had overcome me, and a live show at Hellfest 2012 confirmed the madness with one of the stand out live performances of that particular weekend.

You see, you have to think outside the box with this band of mad men, and perhaps if you are a fan of Arcturus and The Vision Bleak and I am told Devil Doll, you will be in with more than half a chance of loving them as much as I do! I am not going to mention a ‘stand out track’ as they are all wonderful and suffice to say this will be in my top albums of the year.

The band take a slight detour with this album which is probably more, dare I say ‘Proggy’,  if that is the right description, not that they are breaking out Rick Wakeman keyboard solos or anything, it is just slightly more of a journey than ever before.

So, please take that journey to schizophrenia with a huge slab of Victorian darkness and you will be in a straight jacket with the rest of us bathing in this beautiful lunacy in no time at all!
