Shadowlight came to my attention in 2010, upon their debut release of the Winter EP.

The band are Prog in the Rock context, only dabbling lightly in the Metal territory, making them a great relaxing listen and calling to mind another of England’s Finest and their trailblazing Prog Rock work.  

Pulling on many years of collecting writing and recording experience individually and together (for two of the members), the band deliver an impressive and cohesive sound.  The layered melodic vocals complete the sound.  Initially the vocals didn’t sit perfectly with me, but that is often the case.  I need to settle to the dynamics of new vocalists, as I did with the acclaimed Steven Wilson.

All in all, a great debut album that builds on a strong EP and all round talented nice guys.  I am really looking forward to seeing this in the live environment.
